Mwamunyange, Special Correspondent Security officials at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) are investing the cause of a fire that burned down the Server Room on Friday. An ICTR official told The EastAfrican from Arusha that following the incident, the tribunal was not accessible through the Internet. "The fire has been contained, but we aren't using the Server Room and there's no communication through the Internet, said the official. ICTR chief of security Djidy Diop was unavailable for comment as he was said to be "attending meetings". However, the spokesperson for the ICTR, Tim Gallimore said, "We are yet to determine the cost of the damage." The tribunal was established by the United Nations Security Council to prosecute individuals responsible for the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. The tribunal's jurisdiction is limited to crimes committed in Rwanda by nationals of any state between January 1, 1994 and December 31, 1994.
