Wed, 31 December 1969. Record U.S. Supreme Court Term for Antitrust

The June 2007 Supreme Court term was one of most antitrust-focused terms in history, says Wesley R. Powell, a partner in the Global Competition Practice Group at Hunton & Williams LLP (New York). "The court issued several significant decisions in a number of key areas - limiting the availability of antitrust enforcement in the securities industry, heightening the pleading standard for antitrust conspiracies, and overturning the long-standing rule that minimum resale price maintenance practices are per se unlawful." Powell is available to write an article reviewing these major Supreme Court antitrust rulings. The article will discuss, in very practical terms, the impact of these decisions and the extent to which they make it more challenging for plaintiffs to pursue antitrust challenges to business practices.
